The Ra Divers Fiji PADI / SSI dive centre is the heart and soul of Volivoli Beach Resort. With more than 18 years of experience in the Bligh Water Passage, Ra Divers are one of the most established dive operators in Fiji and known for their in-depth knowledge of the local underwater world. Bligh Water, also known as “Vatu-I-Ra Passage”, separates the islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu and is a marine sanctuary full of marine life with stunning biodiversity. Mostly not more than 20 minutes by boat from the resort, the dive sites offer an exciting mix of steep walls and coral blocks covered with colourful, beautifully intact hard and soft corals.

From rare macro creatures such as seahorses, frogfish and ghost pipefish, to barracudas, moray eels and turtles, to black and white tip reef sharks out in the blue, a great variety of marine animals can be discovered. Sometimes even tiger sharks cross the divers’ way and in July humpback whales and manta rays visit the local waters. Extensive coral gardens provide ideal conditions for beginners, while breathtaking wall and drift dives delight experienced divers. The wrecks of the “Papuan Explorer” at about 20 metres and the “Ovalu” at up to 55 metres depth are further highlights for recreational and tech divers. The fleet of three custom-built, well-equipped diving boats, with one being specifically designed for beginners, provides comfortable access to more than 50 dive sites.

Diving with Nitrox is offered for certified divers. The experienced, multilingual team offers profund dive training according to PADI and SSI standards from beginners to instructors. Sheltered soft coral formations in the surrounding waters, some of them reaching just below the surface, are perfect for snorkelling.
